DJ

Q: Who can apply to be an Event UK DJ?
A: If you are a professional DJ with experience working in bars, pubs or clubs then we are interested to hear from you. It is essential that you have experience and a proven track record in working in a live enviroment. Ideally we want to hear from you if you are familiary with the reconised High Street brand.
Q: What does it cost to apply and register with Event UK?
A: Application and registration on the Event UK database free! There are no hidden or renewal fees.
Q: Once I have applied to become an Event UK DJ how long does it take to get a response?
A: We respond to all applications as soon as possible. We need to check references and verify the content of every application. Usually we can respond to enquiries within 48 hours, but if it takes a little longer please be patient as we get many applications.
Q: Can I update or change my profile?
A: We encourage all DJs to keep their profiles fresh and up-to-date. Once a DJ has 'signed in' they can amend their profile from the My Profile section of the web site. Please be aware that amendments to your profile will not appear online until they have been approved by Event UK, which may take up to 48 hours.
Q: Why should I update my profile?
A: Your profile can be viewed on line by members of the Event UK booking's team, and by anyone interested in hiring you for work. Your profile should give a professional account of your work, with this information we can make a more informed choice when identifying suitable DJs.

Gig List

Q: What is the Gig List?
A: The Gig List is a list of available work that we have to place. This list can be viewed via the home page but a personalised Gig List can be viewed once a DJ has signed in under the Artist Resources section of the web site.
Q: If my application is successful how long does it take to begin receiving gig alerts?
A: Once you are registered with Event UK you will be eligible to receive gig alerts immediately. You will only receive gig alerts for work that matches your profile and is within your specified travelling distance. So to avoid missing out on any gig opportunities, please maintain your details under the My Profile section of the web site.
Q: What are gig alerts?
A: Gig alerts are notifications of available work that are emailed to registered Event UK DJs. Gig alerts are only sent to DJs whose profiles match the gig exactly.
Q: How do I receive gig alerts?
A: Please specify in your My Profile - Personal section of the site which email address or addresses you wish to receive gig alerts to. You can specify up to 5 separate email addresses.
Q: Once I receive gig alerts how do I apply to the gig?
A: You must apply to a gig alert in one of two ways. Either via the gig alert email, which has an an apply for gig option or via the web site (Personal Gig List) once you have signed in.
Q: If I receive a gig alert am I guaranteed the gig?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will be offered the gig even if you receive a gig alert, as these alerts are sent to all DJs with matching profiles. If you apply for a gig your application will be considered along with the other applications that we receive.
Q: How will I be offered a gig that that I have applied to?
A: A member of the Event UK booking team will contact you with the full details.
Q: How much does it cost to receive gig alerts?
A: Gig alerts are sent via email and there is no charge.
Q: If I have applied for a gig from a gig alert but my application is unsuccessful, how will I be informed as such?
A: An email will be sent your primary email address as recorded in My Profile - Personal.

Payments

Q: How do I submit an invoice?
A: Invoices can be submitted simply via our 'Online invoice' facility, or by fax or post. If you submit online you will receive a record of the invoice via email (primary email address recorded under your profile.
Q: If I regularly submit weekly invoices, which is the first and which is the last day of the working week?
A: Monday is the first and Sunday is the last day of our working week.
Q: How long does it take to receive settlement of an invoice?
A: Our working week runs from a Monday to a Sunday and payment terms are 19 days from the end of the working week. Please be aware that invoices are settled as one amount so if you choose to include several weeks work on a single invoice, the payment date will be 19 days from the end of the working week that the latest work falls into.
Q: If I submit an invoice covering several weeks, how can I calculate the settlement date of that invoice?
A: We can only settle invoices in one payment, so the payment date for an invoice detailing several weeks work will be calculated from the date of the latest work. Please see artist payments for a detailed explanation.
Q: If I submit an invoice that is incorrect what happens?
A: If you submit an incorrect invoice it will be returned to you with an explanation as to why it is unacceptable. We urge you to take care when submitting your invoice as a wrong invoice may cause a delay in settlement.
Q: How will I be paid?
A: All payments are made via BACS.
Q: If I have a query over an outstanding invoice what shall I do?
A: Please email you query to info@eventuk.co.uk and a member of the accounts team will respond.
Q: How long does it take to receive settlement of an invoice?
A: Invoices can only be settled as one amount and they will be settled in full within three weeks of the most recent work detailed on the invoice, please see artist payments for a detailed explanation.

General

Q: If I apply, is registration guaranteed?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your application will be successful. We consider individual applications as they are made.
Q: When do I submit an invoice?
A: We do not accept invoices in advance of your work. Please submit your invoice once you have completed all of the work detailed on it.
Q: Is there an invoice deadline?
A: For us to meet the payment terms we require the invoice no later than 12 days from the end of the working week the invoice relates to.
Q: How can I apply to join the Event UK approved record mailing lists?
A: Application to join a record mailing list can only be made by registered artists once they have signed in. Please note that application to mailing lists does not guarantee membership and can only be made once every six months.
Q: Can I recommend other DJs to join Event UK?
A: We are always on the lookout for new talent. Please pass on our website address to all your friends and colleagues, spread the word.
Q: How can I apply to join the Event UK approved record mailing lists?
A: Application to join a record mailing list can only be made by registered artists once they have signed in. Please note that application to mailing lists does not guarantee membership and can only be made once every six months.
